For about 8 months I had lived in Rapid City and then outside Spearfish. Right on the edge of the Black Hills and I loved it.
Sioux Falls is all the way on the other side though.

Rapid growth, eh?  Watch it drift to Leftism as the population density goes up.

I've often said that the rankings of cities' desirability ought to include a statistic about number of traffic lights per mile --the lower the number, the better.  Like crime rates.

Lots of boom times out that way. I spend some time in the Lincoln and Omaha areas and between colleges, railroads, and some old rich guy there appears to be more money than people know how to spend. And Lincoln has a leftist contingent that would rival any Berkeley. Weird.
