APS GQ: When will goatee fade from scene?
« on: January 10, 2006, 06:29:23 AM »
Just back from the courthouse with this vital observation on men's fashion.  It was a sea of monkey butts wherever I turned.

Isn't the shaved head and monkey butt over?  What can we do to speed its demise?

Not participating is the best way.
My skin is too sensitive to shave everyday, but I do at least thrice a week, and keep a 'boy' cut length haircut.  I tried to get the last 'stylist' to put a high and tight on my 2 year old, but she didn't know how.  Instead, he too got a boy's cut.

Well, of one LIKES grooming in the fashion of Ancient Rome, go for it.  Leave those of us who don't like looking like a member of the Roman Legions alone.  I used to wear a full beard, trimmed neatly since I HATE shaving.  Then I had to start wearing a respirator for work.  Beards don't work wtih those, so a goatee it was.

As for the hair on the head, its now getting thin enough to warrant just shaving it all off and being done with it.  Of course, I still hate shaving, so.....

Why is it that every time you post an observation on fashion, I get to wondering if whatever fashion trend you're critiquing resulted in a bad day at work?

I have to confess to having...  The Bloatee!

A goatee covering up unsightly neck fat.  Somehow, for the past month I've been sticking to my resolution to go the gym at least 4-5 times a week, so hopefully the fat and the goatee will be gone in about two more months.

Justin, not a bad day, it just drives me nuts that everyone looks the same!  Shaved head and monkey butt, every where I turn.  This look is soooo mid-90s.

Just wish this lingering fad would fade.  However, I may regret what replaces it!

You forgot that most of those people have their jeans hanging off their ass too.

Oh and shoes that cost more than their "jewelry".

You can have my goatee when you shave it off my cold, dead (but still ruggedly handsome) face!

I started losing my hair in my early 20's.  I am now in my mid-40's.  Three months ago, I said to heck with it, and started shaving my head.  I actually have had a Van Dyke, down from a full beard, for about five years now.  I don't notice that many people in Seattle who have a shaved head and goatee.  Hmmm.

I resemble that remark!  Wink

Forget the goatee-it's that damn "soul patch" that needs to go!   Why any guy would think that a strip of hair that looks like his girlfriend's, uh, bikini line, is beyond me.

Come on - isn't it obvious?  The shaved head and goatee is courtroom chic:

El T

Damn..  you sure do not like those goatees do you? I have one most of the year, except during deer hunting season when I have a full beard, probably not like me either. I don't have a shaved head but my pony tail is past the half way point on my back.

charby, it's the saturation principle.  Everyone's got one and it's driving me nuts.

Of course, that's not a long drive!:D
