This is a common tactic for the cultural Marxists, to put fear into the populace. To make us afraid we're going to say the wrong thing, and to control how we think of them, whoever "them" might be at the moment.
Today, I just happened to stumble across confirmation for something I had long known to be true. That is, that media consciously chose to stop using the neutral term "homosexual," in favor of the unprofessional, slang terminology, "gay and lesbian." They claim it's because "anti-gay extremists" (people who disagree with GLAAD) use it in a mean way. More likely, it's because the slang terms make homosexuality sound more appealing.

Preferred: "gay" (adj.); "gay man" or "lesbian" (n.); "gay person/people"
Please use gay or lesbian to describe people attracted to members of the same sex. Because of the clinical history of the word "homosexual," it is aggressively used by anti-gay extremists to suggest that gay people are somehow diseased or psychologically/emotionally disordered – notions discredited by the American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association in the 1970s. Please avoid using "homosexual" except in direct quotes. Please also avoid using "homosexual" as a style variation simply to avoid repeated use of the word "gay." For the record, that acronym covers lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, curious, asexual, agender, ally, pansexual, polysexual, friends and family, two-spirit, and kink.

I don't know if it still is (because I can't, and don't care to, keep track anymore), but I thought that for a while "queer" was the preferred, non cis-shitlord, descriptor to use.

You can say "queer" if the Left decides you can say "queer." Until they change the rules again. That's the point - for you to accept that you will be told how to speak and how to think. And you will feel bad if you don't go along with it.
The Left has made this into such a clown-show, you can't blame people who just stop playing the game, and go back to using the term "perverts."

It literally took me years to learn the four letters LGBT. So for me to learn LGBTQQICAPF2K would probably take the rest of my life if I were to care enough to use such a clumsy term. I guess that's the point, I'm supposed to always be thinking about the LGBTQQICAPF2K community. No thanks, I'll stick with "other" from now on.

Once again, the only truly appropriate term for anyone who identifies themselves primarily based on their sexual preferences, regardless of what those preferences are.
