Computer question .dll error. ??

I've gottenan error on my netbook the last couple of times I've done a restart.

Windows could not load C:\Windows\system32\rasdiaga.dll
 I tried a google search for it and it came back with

Your search - rasdiaga.dll - did not match any documents.

I'm thinking this may have started about the time I "upgraded" to the latest version of Firefox but I couldn't swear to it.

Any ideas??

Are you sure it's rasdiaga.dll and not rasdiag.dll?

The only google hit i get off rasdiaga.dll is this thread.

If that is indeed what windows is looking for, then somehow a mistaken "a" got into the registry entry for that dll.


Try searching for / replacing all instances of rasdiaga.dll with rasdiag.dll in the registry

I double checked to make sure and the error report comes up as rasdiaga.dll.

I'll give Fitz's suggestion a try.

Static Linking
rasdiag.dll is statically linked to the following files:

msvcrt.dll
ntdll.dll
KERNEL32.dll
ADVAPI32.dll
USER32.dll
RASAPI32.dll
ole32.dll
OLEAUT32.dll
SHELL32.dll
WS2_32.dll
IPHLPAPI.DLL
This means that when rasdiag.dll is loaded, the above files are automatically loaded too. If one of these files is corrupted or missing, rasdiag.dll won't be loaded.

Maybe it's trying to tell you that ADVAPI32.dll is corrupted?

Or.  Since the computer seems to work fine without it, remove all references to it in the registry

I tried a search for rasdiaga.dll and came up with nothing
