Obama this, Obama that
« on: April 08, 2010, 12:14:52 AM »
As President, Secretary and Treasurer of the Obama Derangement Syndrome Support Group, I would like to say that even I am NOT happy with Obama's new job as Earthly Incarnation of All Leftism.  That is to say, Obama is not our problem.  Defeating Obama is only one small part (albeit a delicious part) of the task of restoring liberty and reason to American politics.

We shouldn't call it PeeboCare, ObamaCare, or anything else that makes Obama a hero to all the wrong people.  He couldn't have passed the bill without an entire Congress of sick leftists and their voter base.  They all deserve the blame.

We shouldn't automatically make Obama the mastermind of whatever twisted plot the Left is cooking up at the moment.  He isn't.  He's just a demagogue, and a clumsy one at that.  True, his skill (such as it is) has done quite a lot of damage already, but he is just one man.  Or one metrosexual, if you will.

Besides, he gets enough un-deserved attention as it is.  Let's wound his little ego by demoting him to a supporting role in the League of Evil, beside Pelosi, Soros, Nitrogen, and the rest of the sorry  :P, Pelosi, Soros, and the rest of the Uruk-hai.

Agreed.

Allowing the bill to be "Obamacare" then gives Reid, Pelosi, Rangle and the others a pass, as it wasn't "their" bill, they just gave the President's ideas a shot.  How could they be to blame?

Let's call it CommuCare.

PPACA or  Pub. L. No. 111-148?

Notice NO ONE, and I mean, NO ONE, has ever heard the name of the law in the media?  I say "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act" and no one knows what I'm talking about.

It's not a bill anymore, it unfortunately is law.

The enemy is Obamaism, and that took fifty years to bear full political fruit.  We have developed, inside America, an entire parasitical and perverse para-culture that put this man and his cohorts into office, along with the miscreants in Congress.  They are The Other America.  Any attempt to oust this force is going to take some rather painful self-surgery.

I was honored to be mentioned along with the Uruk-hai, but did you have to lump me in with Pelosi?  That was really low.

I'd prefer Barry Goldwater to Pelosi, I think he was the last REAL conservative in congress that I can think of.  I can't even think of the last real liberal I was proud of since Kennedy, and I wasn't even alive then.

Yes I did.  Orders from the Tea Party's Haliburton masters.  They have been watching you.

How about the He Who Shall Not Be Named Law  ???

Cthulhucare? :D At the end of the vote... "The ia's have it!" ba-dump-zing!

To the point, however, fistful is quite correct.  Obama is most certainly not the brains of the establishment, however he is one very important thing: untouchable.

He is black(so to question him is to be a racist), America's historic first black President.  He is very, very charismatic and talks a good game(as long as you don't think too hard while you listen).  Because of his political views, he is well-liked and supported by many people with loud voices and a great deal of money, as well as a great many people with no voice and no money(but at least one vote per).  Like it or not, he is pretty darn inspiring to a great many people who see him - paradoxically enough - as the embodiment of the American dream: the black kid from a single-parent home who grew up to be President.

All this adds up to the perfect figurehead for the Democratic Socialist Party.  Without the race card, without all his ugly baggage(all the czars, the slum-lord deal, all the tax cheats in his cabinet) creating scandals which deflect public attention from important things, without the legion of fools who will blindly support anyone shouting hope'n'change and si-se-puede - they would never have gotten this far.

He is surely not the genesis, but he is the catalyst.

@OP:  Yea, but he is the reason the left has so much power.  He is a symbol, as presidents often are.  It is a lot easier to tie opposition to an individual than a political system.

If I were a political planner for the GOP I think I would encourage targetting Obama because you get better bang for your buck.  If you (Edit: Crush) a specific senator you just get that senator, if you crush the president you get the entire party.

I don't get it.  If Republicans didn't want Obama in the Whitehouse, why did they run McCain?  Even Hillary would have beaten McCain (like a redheaded stepchild).  Fact is, Obama will be POTUS until at least 1/20/13 and there ain't jack anybody can do about it.
