Piano ending of Layla
« on: November 28, 2007, 07:10:53 PM »
It might be a long shot, but...

Does anyone know where I might be able to find a sheet music transcription of the piano coda at the end of Layla?

'Tis the point. Everybody and their brother has a professional transcription of the guitar opening lick with versus and refrain for sale retail, but nobody seems to have an accurate transcription of the piano coda for sale. I've even tried searching the big music publishers. I'll probably have to do it myself.

Thanks, but I've already seen it. It's a standard melody-chordal arrangement, lacking the interesting touches that made it great on the recording. Most of those arrangments assume you're interested in playing both the melody and accompianment. I'm just interested in the piano part. The guitars can keep the melody. Wink

Can't you just get it by ear off the recording?

I've been slowly working on it, but I'm not a great transcriber so it's been difficult and pretty slow. What I have figured out I think covers the whole whopping amount of the first two measures.  grin

One measure at a time is all it takes.  grin

Meanwhile, I need a singer, know anybody?

I'm a great singer. Just ask my upstairs neighbors after I've had a beer or 15.  grin

Too bad they won't be hearing it anymore... angel
