Pastor (bishop, no less) who is also a barber caught stealing electricity to power his barber shop -- since 2012.
I would love to hear how he justifies this to his congregation.

How does a barbershop rack up $4000 in electricity bills?

Never stated how far behind he was.

"barber shop"....so that's what they are calling them nowadays
-
Police say even though power to the barbershop had been disconnected in 2013 for failure to pay a $4,000 bill, it appeared that electricity was still being delivered.
Investigators say the meter had been illegally reconnected, powering the barbershop but not registering the service on the meter.
If he hadn't paid the bill, I can understand the $4000. It wouldn't take long to reconnect if he had a sizable A/C unit or electric heat. And if he reconnected the power illegally, I can understand the theft charge.

Yep. Good question.

Doublethink. It doesn't pay to try to depretzelize the thought processes of passionately self-righteous people.

He racked up another $8000 after it was "disconnected". $12k total. Depending on the location, either lots of A/C or Electric heat.
and the "City of Life Worship and Deliverance Center:" definitely sounds like a store front church.

Or both.

Well, yeah, but he's the BISHOP of that cathedral. That's got to count for something. (Doesn't it?)

Considering there are probably some stray cats in the alley out back that are on the rolls as deacons...

Trivia --
Go to the streetview link, than pan around approximately 180 degrees. To the left of the brake and muffler shop yard, in the distance, there's an odd-looking brick tower (just to the right of the steel lattice power cable tower). That brick tower was where the Remington Arms Company made lead shot for shotgun shells. It was part of a gigantic factory complex that I can remember seeing from the train traveling to and from CT from NY on business. I haven't been there in many years but I understand the factory buildings have been torn down. I think I remember reading that the shot tower was preserved for historic reasons. I think there is (or was) a similar tower somewhere in New Haven that was part of the Winchester complex.

I wonder what else goes on in that building.

What, no barber pole? At the church, not the shot tower.
