The damage is done. We are again reminded of a certain talk show host's wisdom in coining the phrase "drive-by media." They roll by and throw out a bunch of misinformation, assumptions, and lies. When the truth comes out a few days later they've moved on, and the masses only get the first version of the story.

I am reminded of the scene from Four Lions in which the would-be jihadis plot to bomb a local mosque as a false-flag op, then record a video taking credit for bombing the mosque.
