Term limits. max of 2, ANY political office. if that were proposed, congress would be busy than a kennedy at happy hour trying to kill it.

Isnt it true that congress persons will not actually recieve a penny of this raise untill they have been reelected by their constituents, and thus being "approved" by the people to recieve it?

You are correct. The raise goes into effect after the next election. But, in all likelyhood, most Reps will still be there.

That is the biggest screw up the founding fathers did, IMHO, allowing political parties. Washington was right.

Or that the opposition has been so heavily gagged by the McCain/Feingold 1st Amendment Abrogation Act that they were unable to mount a decent campaign.
