Since I asked about wireless web access I figured I should post what I finally did. Today I finally bought my wireless router. I did a little shopping around and had a general idea of what I wanted (I had it down to a few different brands/models and I'd buy the best deal within those). I got the Netgear WGR614 54Mbps wireless router. It took a little longer than I thought to configure, but was extremely easy (there was one step I had to figure out myself and that wasn't in the directions, but it was pretty darned easy to figure out- it wouldn't find any websites, I went to "Internet Options", "Connections", "LAN Settings" and then set it to automatically detect settings). I got it at CompUSA for $29.99 ($49.99 sale price, $10 instant rebate at the register, $10 mail in rebate). It seems to be pretty fast. I just set it up about an hour ago so I haven't started taking my laptop around the house to see how strong the signal is throughout the house, at this point I've only been using it in the room I have the router in, so I guess the jury is still out on the strength of the signal.
