Behind a paywall, but you can likely figure it out.  How the ATF gets guns back from banned purchasers when the background check system has failed.

I am pleased to see that the ATF does try the polite letter and phone calls first, asking you to turn it in, and it is only the people who ignore this that get the more dynamic approach.

With more states legalizing marijuana but it remaining illegal at the federal level, I'm kind of surprised I haven't heard about more confiscation based on pot use. Maybe it's something the feds just don't want to push too hard on or maybe it's more common and I'm just not hearing about it. Seems like tensions on that issue are bound to escalate in the future though.
