What did Fistful do to cause this?

I head out the door at just after 8 AM to go to the VA Hurtspital and run some errands.  Gas tank is low and the station down the street is selling 87 octane for $3.089/gallon.  I fill up.

I come home at 1:30 PM and the same station is saying the same gallon of 87 octane is now gonna cost $3.149.

What did Fistful do to cause this?

And whatever it was, thank you from the bottom of my wallet for waiting until I put gas in the tank before doing whatever it was.

Quit whining.  Our gas here in W. Michigan is $3.599 and that is down from the normal $3.799.

Last weekend I saw gas for $2.999/gallon in South Point, Ohio.

At the Safeway by my house this morning, $ 3.56 per gallon.  Down about 70 cents per gallon over the past month.

Filled up today at a Shell station at $3.099 today. Gas prices ran from $3.029 to $3.159 at various stations I passed, down about $0.80 from their peak a couple of months ago.

Wonder what the price would be if

a) The EPA wasn't meddling with mandated seasonal and regional formulations

and

b) Fed.gov wasn't requiring "up to 10% ethanol" to dilute the gas

Gas prices here are always exactly 35 cents lower than Wisconsin, so I'm assuming that's the difference in taxes.

I paid $3.33 in Effingham Illinois on Friday and $3.67 today in Monee, IL (outside of the Chicago Metro area).  At the place closest to my house it's $3.75.

I hate Illinois.  :mad:

My luck.  Diesel went from 3.189 to 3.339 at Sam's Club sometime in the last 5-6 days in East Alabama.
