thrill ride of doom!
« on: March 12, 2014, 01:20:32 PM »
this morning i noticed the furnace sounded odd.  when i went down to take a look i found it shaking mildly while running.  i opened it up and discovered a mouse had been centifuged to death on the fan blades.  it took about an hour to snake it out of there due to clearance issues.

So was the mouse relatively intact or had been chopped?

the little fella was intact, semi-folded across two of the blades, with blood coming out of every orifice.  (i wasn't gonna go there, but since you asked...)

Well, the upside is that you were not cleaning minced mouse out of the furnace!

Hah!
Our fridge was not cooling properly, and I found a dead mouse corpse that stopped the cooling fan.
This one was easy to extract!

I've pulled one out of the induction fan before. Guess it came in from the outside.
I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

Found a dessicated mouse in the dryer vent pipe at the elbow coming out of the dryer.

The outdoor vent had no screen, now it does.
For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

The weirdest I had was I kept hearing this scratching, thought it was mice in the wall, then narrowed it to mice trapped under the whirlpool tub, but couldn't pinpoint the noise. After much investigation I see little claws sticking out of the shower vent fan grate.Looked like a bird's foot. Unscrewed the vent/light cover and out falls a very tired and thirsty bat. Just lay in the shower lapping up water drops. I got it in a cup covered with a piece of cardboard and evicted it before full recovery.
