I think he is a lying scumbag and probably paid her to say those things. I really like the act he is pulling with the walker, when he was rich and famous I bet he was just fine and now that he is looking at jail he has become frail and fragile, but it looks like he still eats just fine. ;/

That was my first thought. Scumbag that he is, I'm sure he'd do anything to stay out of the pokey. Though it's not like he can "hide the evidence" so to speak.

They may update the story but not clear what the issue is.

Harvey Weinstein has had his New York rape and sexual assault convictions overturned.
The New York Court of Appeals ruled that the disgraced movie producer did not receive a fair trial when he was convicted in 2020.
It is unclear if the bombshell ruling will free him from prison, as he still has another conviction in Los Angeles for a separate rape.

which seems to consistently have more complete and accurate news than most news outlets.... just sayin' incidentally.
My "technical interest" involves my long-standing and oft-repeated opinion that procedural errors on the part of the prosecution or the judge should bar retrials on that case and all charges dismissed. See and apply the concept of "legal lenity*."
This, on my theory that if the accusers can't make a proper case the first time around, tough noogies, and go find another violation to crucify someone on. It also smacks of the "double jeopardy" clause in the Bill Of Rights**, but who gives a *expletive deleted*it about the Bill Of Rights anymore anyhow. It's just a piece of wrinkled old paper.
My technical interest is completely apart from the salacity (tee-hee-giggle-giggle) of this case.

He is only off the hook if the prosecutors are too busy going after Trump to retry his case. However, it does appear that prosecutors and judges in New York have made a habit of ignoring precedent and proper court procedures if it is politically attractive to go after the defendant.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out the prosecutors decided not to retry the case after getting hefty campaign contributions.

He is only off the hook if the prosecutors are too busy going after Trump to retry his case. However, it does appear that prosecutors and judges in New York have made a habit of ignoring precedent and proper court procedures if it is politically attractive to go after the defendant.
I wouldn't be surprised to find out the prosecutors decided not to retry the case after getting hefty campaign contributions.

It is always good to remember that he was by far not the only one in Hollywood doing all the same stuff. He was just the public sacrifice of the #metoo movement; kicking him to the curb so others could take power in Hollywood.

He is also serving a California sentence concurrently with his New York sentence. So he will remain in a New York prison regardless pending his New York retrial.

Glad he'll remain in jail for the additional crimes he was convicted of.
I'm having a hard time seeing a retrial on the same charges, what with double jeopardy and all. What are they doing, pretending the 1st trial never really happened?
