What moth is this?

What type of moth is this.  It has a wing span of 6". Found it in my garage.  Came out from under my wife's car when I walked through the garage this evening. Startled me for a couple of seconds when I saw it out of the corner of my eye. Wasn't expecting something that big to be a bug.

That's almost as big as our skeeters this year after all the rain we've had. I was working in the garden the other day and after the skeeters had worked me over I'd lost 12 pounds.

Actually, that's a Crane Fly and they come bigger than that.  I just selected a pic which would fit on the page.

They don't bite.  But they look as if when they did, they'd getcha down to the bone  and suck out the marrow.

And they look like they could house a  lot of surveillance equipment.  ;)

I find them roosting on the walls of buildings during the day, and occasionally one gets in the house.

I immediately start itching all over as if covered in skeeter bites when I see one.
