The odd thing is the fascism we supposedly want to install as he describes looks amazingly like what we already have under the current Democrat/Republican hammer and anvil government.

The current Fascists aka the Oligarchy of Militarists, Corporatists, Plutocrats, and Banksters want to overthrow our Legitimate Representative Democratic State in which the public still has an illusion of power and a voice, through voting, and thus still a tiny possibility of exerting some control and power and regulation over them and their profits.

They wish to instead install a totalitarian authoritarian Right Wing regime that would grossly favor their interests.

To accomplish this they need to first discredit our current system.

They do that by accusing it of exactly that which they intend to install.

And simultaneously corrupting it by every means possible...bribery, extortion, redistricting, voter suppression, fraud, etc.

Why do you read Kos? 

I will admit to reading a fair number of left leaning sites because I agree with some of their stances, but I try and stick with ones that use reason and make a sincere effort to check their facts.  Kos has been caught in enough lies that I can't take them seriously as any kind of reasoned opposition.

Actually, I did a search on the term "Molon labe," just to see if it had escaped from the gunnysphere, and how it might be faring out in the wild. That was the first result that wasn't a gun board, a liberty-oriented American forum, or some place selling stickers.

We appear to have reached that point in time when both sides are accusing the other of wishing to clandestinely enact a Fascist/Socialist/totalitarian government of one stripe or another.

 

I own guns.  I'm an American.   I use the term "Molon Labe" as a tagline on some, but not all, of the forums I visit.  

What they're trying to do is to disarm us (figuratively) by trying to convince us if we continue to fight we will somehow be responsible for allowing a totalitarian government; that what we should do, is sit back, shut up, and let them win.........

In fairness, their revolution has been fought inside the confines of the political process.  They are winning, using that framework.  The left convinced the majority of Americans that this is a good idea, this is what we want to do.  Is that not the intention of the political process?  Allowing changes to the social contract which the majority agree is a good idea?

Our only redoubt is the court system upholding the intent of the constitution.

Don't hold your breath, truth is dead to our leaders. We are now a nation of "men" not law. Lex Rex is ancient history.

Once it is clear that the constitution is defacto a dead letter all there will be is force.

Some will submit to the superior force of the state to various degrees, others will not and will be killed or imprisoned.

Personally I'm not kidding myself that there will be another revolution bringing in liberty anew. There will be no civil war of those who love liberty against the encroaching state.

The dystopia is here already, that is what the people want.

Sorry, but I pretty much agree. We're not facing Hitler or Tojo anymore, a perceptible foe capable of defeat by bullet or bayonet against whom we are unified despite differences. The enemy is the darker, atavistic impulses of ourselves. As I asked in the Clinton/Benghazi thread, how do you fight apathy?

They've only won by going well outside the political process. They've taken the long march through the institutions - schools, churches, movie studios, bureaucracies. That's what we'll have to do, I'm afraid.
