(Obligatory Brit bashing: Today's Limeys are the descendants of a powerful island nation that once conquered half the world, but has yet to master central heating, gourmet cooking, or modern dentistry.)

Yet to master:

Central heating? How did you figure that one out, and can you spare me some of what you have been inhaling?

Gourmet cooking? Define that for me, please. If you mean traditional British food, and you hate it, fine. Come to think of it, what 'Gourmet' dishes that are traditional American ones do you guys have? If you mean fancy international dishes at posh fancy restaurants, then I think that we stack up pretty well against New York City.

Dentistry?  grin I guess I will concede that one, as I have noticed that quite a few of us Brits really are lacking in the oral hygiene area.
I think Brits lost their taste buds in The Blitz.  It is the worst food I have ever had.  Everything fried.  In old oil.  Ever smell fish n' chips out of a newspaper?  Foo.  Vegetables are either the mushy peas or the soggy brussels sprouts.  I shivered my way through an Oxford winter with only an "electric fire" to warm me.  No thermostat on it either.
As for American food, what about California Cuisine?  Southwestern?  Cajun?  Barbeque? Soul food?  Every one of them an American original.  Ever hear of Mom and Apple Pie?  We invented apple pie.  And I'm not too certain we didn't invent Mom too.  What did the British invent?  Squashed badger, in a pie.
Dentistry is bad because of socialized medicine.  That and everyone smoking like crazy.  Ugliest women on earth too.

I like Brit food, or at least what passes for Brit food in Arizona.

Then again, I have been likened to a human garbage disposal.

Well, I'll just say one word, and if you aren't in total agreement after you read it then there is no hope for you - custard.
I do not like, when with me play, and I think that you also

Ugliest women on earth too.
I've never met that many English women, but I'm a sucker for the accent.

A lot of traditional British foods are pretty stodgy, I'll give you that much. However, we eat curry and chilli and all that stuff like there is no tomorrow.

I think that Art Eatman made a good point about the football hooligans too, those guys could make the Imperial Stormtroopers look good.  shocked

The Indian food was terrific, just the best stuff around.  The Chinese very disappointing.  But who puts mayonnaise on baked potatoes??

Who bakes a potato?  Yuck.  Fry it, mash it, anything but baked.

Mayonnaise on baked potatoes? Erm, nobody, at least no one that I have ever met in my entire life. Trust me, mayonnaise on potatoes is not a very common thing to do here!  shocked

It was an option offered by the roach coaches at Oxford, so I assume someone must do it, other than visiting Belgians.

Hmmmmmmm.... Baked potato smothered in butter.  Smiley   Heaven.
(don't need all that other crap on top of it; it is not a salad.)

A little steak and a green with it and you have the perfect meal.

I don't mind Brits at all.  It is the elitist aristocratic attitude that I don't like.  That can come from anyone.

It just happens that Americans have been hearing or reading various Brits look down on us for over 200 years.  I have met some Brits that are good people though.
