Anybody going to see 'Apocalypto'?
« on: December 08, 2006, 06:20:26 PM »
The language barrier will be a little off-putting, otherwise it sounds like a movie that combines a whole bunch of my interests together.

Oh man, I just got back! RUN TO THE MOVIE THEATER TO SEE THIS!

It's funny, sad, action packed, romantic, historical, sweet, scary.

It is one of the best movies in the last ten years, hands down.

Can't imagine why I would subject myself to another of Gibson's bludeonings.

DVD is not acceptable!

This movie is way better then "Passion" way, way better.
It's really interesting, action packed and to be honest it has a lot
of really funny scenes as well as enough romance for the date and violence
for the guy. This may be the best movie ever made, you have to go see it.

No thanks.  I've seen enough ineffectual parody of Native folk in "Anglo-produced" diatribes to last a lifetime.

I don't need same laced with Gibson's personal looniness.

I'm not sure that I would avoid at all cost, but he is definitely on my list of people not to walk across the street to P!$$ on if they burst into flames.

I definitely want to see it, but I'll probably see it on DVD.

One of the huge attractions of this type of movie for me, is the "epic battle scenes", and one of the largest attractions of "epic battle scenes" for me is seeing it on the big screen.

I was quite possibly one of only three or four kids in America my age who didn't see "Star Wars" on the big screen circa 1977 - 1983. When I saw it a couple of years ago on the big screen I was stunned at the difference between it and what I'd seen on tv.

I really wish they'd re-release some 'golden age' movies like 'Ben Hur' and the 'Ten Commandments' so I could see them on the big screen and get the full audio-visual effect.

Because FINALLY a great movie has been made, don't judge this movie on Passion, or any other movie he's made or been in.

If you miss this one, on the big screen, you are really missing out.

Mel isn't an anti Semite he was drunk and acting stupid.

One hell of a movie.

I never have seen Star Wars in the theater. I would like to.

I have seen Ben Hur and 10 Commandments on the big screen - at college. We had a professional grade theater.

But, hopefully by February I'll have my own little home theater up and running, complete with a minimum 48" HDTV for those extra special movies...

Well, I've seen it.  It's definitely a good movie.  Maybe not quite as great as gunsmith says, but it's good nonetheless.  If you liked Braveheart then you'll dig this one.

Y'all oughta go see it.  It's definitely worth the price of the ticket.  It's a bit graphic and gruesome, though, so it's probably not a good choice for a date...    shocked

Not the most politically correct flic, either.  Native peoples were not nearly as warm and fuzzy and innocent as the leftists would have us believe.  This movie reminded me of how grateful I am for western society.  And for my firearms.

The PETA folks will have a cow when they see it.   grin

I never have seen Star Wars in the theater. I would like to.
You had a 2nd chance a few years ago when they showed all three, albiet modified, movies at theatres nationwide.  I missed the first one and was too young to really remember the 2nd one, so getting to see even the modified versions on the big screen was a treat.

Yep. And I missed it then, too. I had some things going on in my life that precluded my going to the movies.

I really liked Braveheart, while The Passion has been the best and most accurate depiction of the Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I shall be going to see Mel's latest this week on the big screen.

Good flick I'm glad I saw it.
Certainly not a date flick, wife didn't enjoy it much.
