The Good Shepherd - CIA history
« on: December 13, 2006, 03:13:35 AM »
I just saw a trailor for a film called "The Good Shepherd."  Supposedly, it relates the story of how the CIA was founded.  Would anyone like to profer an INFORMED opinion on its accuracy?

Fistful,

Isn't this one of those situations where anyone who will tell you is probably a source you shouldn't consider reliable, and anyone who actually could tell you...really actually can't tell you?   grin

Seek out wisdom in books, rare manuscripts, and cryptic poems if you will, but seek it also in simple stones and fragile herbs and in the cries of wild birds. Listen to the song of the wind and the roar of water if you would discover magic, for it is here that the old secrets are still preserved.

Depends on the Baldwin, they aren't all liberal anti's.  Heck, the really good one, Adam, isn't even a "Baldwin brother".

In a way, yes.  Obviously, there are a lot of things that have been declassified by now, as the founding of the CIA may not be sensitive information these days.

But I have the same reaction when I hear anything from intelligence organizations or certain special ops units.  In a lot of cases they can't tell the truth and sometimes they actually have to lie.  So why would I believe them?

True.  Stephen Baldwin is a born again type and conservative.  Unfortunately, the Baldwin in the movie is the "liberal dirtbag" variety.

But does he get tortured and/or killed? That's the important question...
