should be shot, hanged, gutted, quartered, burned and fed to pigs.
The legislation was aimed at hackers and thieves who sell passwords in bulk, but its sponsors acknowledge it could be employed against people who use a friend’s or relative’s subscription.
While those who share their subscriptions with a spouse or other family members under the same roof almost certainly have nothing to fear, blatant offenders — say, college students who give their logins to everyone on their dormitory floor — could get in trouble.
“What becomes not legal is if you send your username and password to all your friends so they can get free subscriptions,” said the bill’s House sponsor, Rep. Gerald McCormick.
This is the same as the Jim Crow laws, and the Saturday Night Special laws. Unfocused in wording, but focused in grey intent, between the lines.
It's not "supposed" to be used against households with 1 netflix account that allow multiple computers in that house to access Netflix streaming services. It's only "supposed" to be used against those who distribute passwords well beyond the bounds of a household.
But "supposed" to isn't in the law.
Just like the Jim Crow laws were "supposed" to only disarm blacks and the poor. Not that it's right to do that. But that was the intent.
Or the 1934 NFA was "supposed" to disarm the bank robbers, rum runners and mafia. Not the rest of us.
There's nothing in this law that legally stops authorities from arresting your wife or children for using your Netflix account... or arresting you for sharing your netflix account with your wife and children.
