Pentatonix - Hallelujah (Official Video, Original song lyrics)

Two sisters remind us of the real reason for the season with this beautiful duet of an Easter version of ‘Hallelujah.’
This powerful song was originally written by Kelley Mooney when she was asked to sing Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' at church one Sunday.
After looking closely at the song, Kelley realized that the original lyrics did not line up with the story of Easter at all. She thought that it would not be a good idea to sing those lyrics, so she came up with a great idea to re-write the song to tell the real story of Easter.

I'm constantly amazed that people think Cohen's song is some expression of Christian piety or worship. Actually watched an idiot sing it in a church once.

Yup. Surprised me when I heard the Pentatonix version (original lyrics) and thought, WTH? Off I went and found the Original lyrics and realized they sang it correctly! I later found the "Easter Version" by the two sisters and was happy with that for Christian event/ceremony/"church" use.

Try this version of "Hallelujah". It's sung by a then young autistic Irish schoolgirl. Very nice.

This version by a group called "Cloverton" is pretty good, too.
