Starter Airsoft for Child
« on: September 07, 2009, 07:23:22 PM »
Howdy:

I am starting my child on the firearm basics and would like an air soft to get him started.

But, I am at a loss as to which one. I bought a spring-action M4gery (Crosman R-something) at Wally World, but is it too large, even with stock collapsed (OAL = 28", LOP = 10"). And it is a bit weighty, even though it is plastic.

I like hte spring action, as it forces single shots and makes re-chambering a plastic bb a deliberate act.

Any idea for a small-scale airsoft?

You start him out on a sissy airsoft, he's likely to go poofters on ya.  Why not a Garand?

I have one of these.

It's cheap but you'll quickly learn not to shoot yourself in the foot with it.  :O

It's lightweight and comes with bb's and a target.  The target is actually rather cool, with a little netted backdrop so you don't lose the bb's if you can aim properly.  Not exactly a rifle, though it is spring loaded.

That's all I have to offer, it was a Christmas present and I've never shot any other airsoft.

Sunday it felt a little better, but it was quite irritated from me rubbing it.

I learned on a 1903A3.  Worked out well for me, I think.

=D Not quite.

There are a number of airsoft pistols out there that have been tiny to me (to the point I'd never be able to use them myself) that might be just the thing for the kid.
