The Active Body Holster suitable for Spandex.
« on: June 19, 2014, 12:00:47 AM »
The Portland based Active Body Holster Co. used the 'armed society' quote in its logo.  The company made a couple or reeeal useful items.

If any members here have any information about Active Body Holster Co, products, that would be appreciated.

The Active Body Holster Company was a Portland based company focused on carry options intended for the Spandex wearing cyclists, joggers, etc.

The ' Holster' was a belly band type, worn higher than waist level, with the sewn on Holster positioned for small of back carry.

Comments appreciated.

Thanks,  salty

I had one, and it still might be in a box in the garage.  I used it on occasion when bicycling under a loose jersey. I liked it.

Having a hard time finding anything on them now.

I've been looking at it from the idea one of those cycling/jogging/search-n-rescue type chest radio rigs might work. Especially if you're going to put a radio, a phone, some pepper spray etc. in there with the pistol anyway.
I promise not to duck.

Elastic and velcro does not last forever and I was looking for a replacement.

The 'holster' was a good idea and seemed to work as intended.  Too small a market and didn't make a big splash. Even good ideas go away.

Does anyone know of a suitable alternatitive?

Crossbreed makes a bellyband hybrid holster:

Take a look at that.

Oh, and welcome to APS.

I have had good luck with various neoprene waist packs designed for music players and the like.  They are getting harder to find, though.

Screw carry; I want CAS drones.

IIRC, there was some experimentation with an automated follow mode for the hexacopter controllers; use a smartphone as the target, sending GPS data via Wifi, and the copter could hold position and direction relative to the target, allowing for easy filming of a moving object.  Add a couple of short barrel .410s and a short delay command to fire them at the phone.  Push the button, hand the BG your phone, count to three and boom.

Easier than automated artillery.

No dis, but I'd rather have an A-10 on call.
