I recently joined the United States Air Force. I'm currently on the DEP, and I'll be shipping in July. I'm going to be a 1A8X1 - Airborne Crytpologic Linguist.

You?

That's one cool job title.  Which languages are you studying?

I spent 11 years in the Army; Infantry and Field Artillery.  My titles were never that cool but I did have the word 'Airborne' in some of them.

Retired Marine attack pilot here. Still work with Marine Corps aviation programs in the Pentagon: V-22, CH-53, H-1 Upgrades, and VXX (AKA "Marine One"). I'll admit to having family and friends currently in Army aviation.  Tongue

Most probably Arabic, with a slight possibility for Korean. And yes, the title is cool. Cheesy But, in my opinion, the job is also quite cool as well. I was dead set on this job the moment I learned it existed.

Nothing better than having the titles of Marine machinegunner and Security Forces!

Army 74-78, Crypto intercept op.  Met the future mrs there, she was a crypto/linguist (russian). He fondest memory of the Army is the time spent at DLI. Don't know if it is still in Monterey.
