I always thought Gideon got off lightly with that whole testing God thing.

'You want a wet fleece? How about a lion? A wet lion?'

This isn't the first time I've heard of crazies entering big cat enclosures, although it is the first one I've heard of that had any religious angle. A schziophrenic got killed doing that in a UK zoo (I want to say London zoo) several years back.

Something similar happened here in DC a couple of years ago.

Zoo opened up one summer morning, and the keepers found the remains of a woman who had apparently scaled a couple of fences and walls.

Where do Christians enter into this?

Just curious.

KIEV (Reuters) - A man shouting that God would keep him safe was mauled to death by a lioness in Kiev zoo after he crept into the animal's enclosure, a zoo official said on Monday.

"The man shouted 'God will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.

"A lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery."

The incident, Sunday evening when the zoo was packed with visitors, was the first of its kind at the attraction. Lions and tigers are kept in an "animal island" protected by thick concrete blocks.
Several possible lessons here:

A: God doesn't exist.

B: God doesn't like stupid people.

C: God likes hungry lionesses more than He likes stupid people.

No which you believe, I think each of the above offers an important life lesson. Cheesy

E: God felt the need to have a face to face chat with the chap and explain the whole 'God helps those who help themselves' thing.

Personally, I think this is a great argument for reincarnation.  Clearly the guy hadn't quite gotten it yet.

So a lion is chasing a Christian through the woods.  The Christian shouts "Lord save me!  Make this lion a Christian too!"  No sooner does he say that than the lion drops to his knees.  He folds his paws and starts to pray, "O Lord, for this food which I am about to receive..."
