Universal school choice in Nevada
« on: June 11, 2015, 05:37:59 PM »

I thought this was important enough to share with you all.

Nevada just passed a law to have real school choice for all their kids-

Kids who withdraw from public school will get 90% of the money that would have been spent on them given to their parents in an flexible education spending account that they can use for tuition, tutors, or ANY other education expense... and this fund rolls over year to year.

I wish this was the case in every state.

Wow. That's a bold experiment. I hope it succeeds and serves as a model. I do have to say we've seen a lot of issues (fraud/waste/incompetence) associated with charter schools in the Dallas area, so there is risk of profiteers crawling up to the trough.
