I was just thinking about my stint in Iraq and man I had a perfect moment there like you cannot imagine (at least to me).
There I was, driving in Balad with the temp near 120 and the windows down. Helos ALWAYS flew around as there was lots of shooting to do and we had the biggest field hospital in the country. I'm kinda soaking it all in ( as I did often, actually enjoying my time there, the lifestyle, the heat, the whole experience) and what comes on AFRTS (a-farts) radio? Orange Crush. And what happens next? Cue the Blackhawk helo. It was like I was in a movie and I was diggin it. The world was RIGHT...for me...at that exact instant. Nothing could have been better.
Iraq was exactly where I belonged at that moment, and I was happy.
