Paranoid? You're not alone.
« on: June 10, 2016, 12:17:43 PM »
The New York Times has a couple of articles on the "gang-stalking" of "targeted individuals." The "T.I.s" are paranoiacs that share their "experiences" with like-minded individuals, reinforcing one another's beliefs that they are the targets of conspiracy.

Quote
For the few specialists who have looked closely, these individuals represent an alarming development in the history of mental illness: thousands of sick people, banded together and demanding recognition on the basis of shared paranoias.

They raise money, hold awareness campaigns, host international conferences and fight for their causes in courts and legislatures.

Sounds familiar.

Have a coworker, sweet younger lady, who has had significant issues with paranoia over the past year or so. Came to a head some months ago, which resulted in her taking several weeks off under a doctor's care.

She came back a few weeks ago and I was talking with her, and it was evident that the paranoia was still pretty rampant. Was asking me if I was trying to get her fired (I was in charge of our team for a couple of months), or if the manager above me was trying to get her fired, was saying that everyone was whispering about her behind her back...

Monday she gave her two weeks notice. She told me that this place was toxic for her (yeah, it can be), and that she needed out of here for her own sake (yes).

Hate to see her go, though. Nice kid.

The ones that are most troubling and potentially the most trouble are the ones who learn to conceal their feelings and hide them in a bubble and percolate inside until you end up with an explosion of some sort
either  personally destructive or destructive to others

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

What if gang stalking is real, and making it out to be a psychiatric problem is part of the stalking/isolation process?  [tinfoil]

Mind blown.  >:D

Just 'cause your paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Makes me think some people just need to get away from the big city and move somewhere where they have more space.

Well, it's a job. When Lenny hits retirement this August, I'm going to get full time on the Barium and Sodium Pentathiolate admixture unit at MKE. For the commercial flights, and the Nat. Air Guard KC130's that still operate out of there.

Can't wait.

But even as a part-timer, and only ground crew, I get a flight jacket and the unit patch. After that 3-4 more years and good evals, (paperwork is everything) I can apply for a slot as a flight tech.  =)

Sorry, but the spraying is becoming computerized and remote controlled.  The Spray Pattern Overlay Team now handles all of the Application and Dispursement Developement.  You can still get the ground job, but you have to provide your own containment suit.

The quotation I, uh, quoted in the OP:

Doesn't anybody else recognize that description?

Still working my way through the article, but this jumped out at me:

Quote
He would see the operatives, he said, disguised as ordinary people, lurking around his Midtown Manhattan neighborhood. Sometimes they bumped into him and whispered nonsense into his ear, he said.

In instructional tracts online, veterans of the movement explain the ropes to rookies:

• Do not engage with the voices in your head.

• If your relatives tell you you’re imagining things, they could be in on it.

Aren't auditory hallucinations one of the calling cards of schizophrenic paranoia? I don't have a deep understanding of the disease, but I would hope if I started hearing things, no matter how convincing, I would seek help. But my guess is the disease attacks that part of the brain as well.
