There is an 800lb Panda in the room and not too many folks are talking about it or seem to care.

The Chinese Communist strategy for dominating America – and the arrogance with which they now discuss it publicly – was captured in a recent speech in Shanghai by Di Dongsheng, the vice dean of the School of International Relations at Renmin University of China and vice director and secretary of the Center for Foreign Strategic Studies of China. “Why did China and the U.S. use to be able to settle all kinds of issues between 1992 and 2016? No matter what kind of crises we encountered, be it the Yinhe incident, the bombing of the embassy, or the crashing of the plane, things were all solved in no time, like (a couple) do with their quarrels starting at the bedhead but ending at the bed end. We fixed everything in two months. What is the reason? I’m going to throw out something maybe a little bit explosive here. It’s just because we have people at the top. We have our old friends who are at the top of America’s core inner circle of power and influence.”

Swalwell is not alone in California Democratic Party ties to Communist China. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, at one time chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, had a driver for 20 years with ties to Chinese intelligence.

In fact, a National Review story by Zachary Evans that described part of the Swalwell-Fang connection also identified Fang as a Feinstein staffer. Swalwell had participated in an event "organized by Christine Fang, a suspected Chinese spy who developed a relationship with Swalwell between 2011 and 2015, according to a year-long investigation by Axios that found Fang bundled campaign donations for the congressman and even had an intern placed in his office."

I think a lot about what might happen in the South China Sea and especially if various nations decide to go after the oil/natural gas reserves in the area.  I have been following this for a while now, and the PLAN is building very good new naval warships like there is no tomorrow and they are getting blue water carrier experience.  The PRC now has lots of runways and harbors in the area due to the artificial islands they have built.
