Kenmore Air, a local FBO and charter service, operates both the radial and Turbo Beaver, and they are a sight to behold. When I worked in downtown Seattle, I could watch the Beaver seaplanes flying in and out of Lake Union.

F250 of the sky, and 50 odd years after the last one was made, it is still the most cost effective option for many jobs.

Side note:
Dame Olivia Mary de Havilland DBE passed away this year at age 104.

(1945)
(She was the paternal cousin to Sir Geoffrey de Havilland (1882–1965), an aircraft designer known for the de Havilland Mosquito, and founder of the aircraft company which bore his name.)

Anybody notice there's a Beaver Moon up there?
https://www.timeanddate.com/astronomy/moon/beaver.html
Coincidence? I think not.
And speaking of the de Havilland Beaver aircraft, Joan Fontaine, Olivia de Havilland's sister's full name was Joan de Beauvoir de Havilland.
Notice that middle name? Close enough, eh?

Spooky, I tells ya. Spooky.
Cue Twilight Zone theme...
