Some people call them loosemeat sandwiches, made rites or lumberjack hamburgers.

Ground beef 1-2 lbs
1 onion or to taste
salt and pepper to taste

Brown above until done. Serve between slices of bread with ketchup and mustard.

Add chili powder and cumin to the above recipe and you have taco filling.

Add ketchup and BBQ sauce to the above recipe and you have sloppy joes.

Another good one is a whole chicken. I can get a pretty decent sized chicken for about $3.50, and it will feed us 3 dinners. Couldn't possibly be easier to cook, either. 2 - 2 1/2 hours in the oven at 350. I rub the breast down with a little butter and sprinkle on some lemon-pepper seasoning or just dump a bottle of BBQ sauce over the whole thing.

1st night - Roast chicken and potatoes
2nd night - Chicken salad sandwiches
3rd night - chicken and rice soup

Oh, OHHHH I just threw together a good one.

1 can kidney beans, rinsed with the can filled back mostly with water
1 can rotel
1 packet mccormick "original" chili seasoning
1 can chicken broth
some large amount of chicken

I threw everything but the chicken in a pot, stirred it up, and let it simmer. The chicken, mine was frozen boneless tenderloins, went into the toaster oven at 300 degrees until it was all white. Then I cubed it up and tossed it in the pot too.... let it simmer a while and WOW is that good!

Make some mac and cheese. Chop a keilbasa [sp?] into smaller segments and fry. Combine the two. Yum.
