It's funny how a gun can in stantly change your perspec tive on things, make you wish you could rewrite history.

It won't let me read the whole article without registering.  So he voted for the right to carry guns and mug people, and then later he decided he should have voted for victim disarmament?

Other way around.  He voted against CCW legislation (twice) until he nearly got robbed.  Now he and his wife are applying for their permits.

Unfortunately too many respond the other way after being mugged, trying to take away our guns with renewed force. Those are the people that believe that violence begets violence. Of course they forget that if you shoot the person that started it, they aren't going to be causing trouble anymore.

DAMMIT! It really pisses me off EVERY time I see this statement made!

Over the past nearly 20 years what, 25 or 30 states have either adopted CCW or amended their issue rules so that anyone who qualifies gets one?

And how many instances of OK Corral have there been? How much of a jump in gun violence has there been? NONE!

Why do people like this think their states are so damned special?

Mike, it's simple: the mindset is gun=violence.  Thus more guns=more violence.  It is totally specious, of course.
Here in TN we have been trying to get carry allowed in restaurants that serve alcohol.  Now, KY has had this rule from the beginning.  And they have had no incidents I am aware of where permit holders got drunk at dinner, pulled the gun and started shooting.  And yet I guess Tennesseans are more redneck, backwoods, and prone to violence than Kentuckians because the bill always gets shot down whenever it is proposed here.  Makes no sense.

what I don't understand is why volumes of objective, verifiable examples and proof are so casually disregarded for someone's conscience.

If this "minister" TRULY had the liberal conscience he seems to claim he had he would have gladly emptied his wallet to these downtrodden, disadvantaged inner city youths who are obviously simply products of the cruel, repressive Conservative government.
