The Mess Hall / Simple shore breakfast
« Last post by Kingcreek on Today at 03:14:44 PM »
We got home Tuesday night after a 6 day trip to Sonoma County, California. The schedule has been crazy hectic and wife was exhausted. She announced last night she is offline for the weekend. I'm on my own.
I was awake early this morning. The battery for the fishing boat is questionable so I took the jeep and a couple rods to just fish from the bank first time out this year.
Fishing was not great, didn't find any Morel mushrooms, but I brewed my strong trail coffee and broke out the old Griswold #6 cast iron skillet and cooked 2 venison breakfast sausage patties and then 3 eggs on the camp single burner. No other souls in sight. Had a chunk of smoked gouda and a heel of crusty bread.
Would have been better with a handful of Morels and better fishing but it was delightful.

100 yards is pretty far in thicker woods.  I can see how they wouldn't see her.  I am curious if they were making noise, but if she was sleeping maybe it wouldn't matter.

No doubt, which is why it appears she made the normally safe move to plant herself. Sadly, she was also pretty close to a clearing they flew over where they would have spotted her. The article mentioned she was "easily lost", and I wonder if she was just too scared to move even 50 yards?

I don't know why they would need shotguns.  Surely they can get hold of more $2 million missiles to take out the drones.

After the Big Guy and his friends and everyone else along the line take out their share it's all the Ukrainians can afford.

The only time I showed up in court for a speeding ticket, the ticketing officer was telling everyone to go to court and ask for deferred adjudication.  They "fee" was the same as the ticket, but the speeding ticket went away after a few months.  The city of Pasadena, TX just wanted the money.

I went to court once for a traffic ticket that I got in a totally corrupt speed trap in I think like 1982. I took photos of the reduced speed sign blocked by a tree where the cops set up and had a whole defense setup. When it was my turn to go before the judge, I think I got to talk for like ten seconds before he stopped me and said "guilty as charged".

About six months later, a local attorney sued the city over the speed trap (which was an ongoing thing) and won. Too late for me, but at least others didn't get caught in the corrupt money making scheme by the city.
I think that is how some of the famous speed traps were shut down in Texas.  Someone eventually sued or appealed the conviction high enough to get more notice.  Plus, the state department of transportation adjusted the rules to make it harder for small towns to put stop lights or speed limit changes on state highways.
