That's why I had my surgery scheduled for last Friday. I told every family member that I would not be able to go visiting for Christmas. Doctor's orders.
Even though I'm perfectly fine, I'm by myself at home. My wife is with her family, and I don't have to endure her two brothers.
At my folk's house right now is a sister-in-law who would drive my blood pressure up enough to start the incision bleeding again.
Instead, I'm going to sit down and watch a good Christmas movie: "Goodfellas." (Yes, it's a Christmas movie: remember the Christmas party at the club when Jimmy Conway tells Johnny Roast Beef and his wife to leave after they show up with a new Cadillac? Then they wind up sitting in the pink Cadillac, both shot in the head. Merry Christmas!
