I'm going to try to get Nikky home today.

It's a 180 mile trip, but I'm going to give her one of her pain pills before we go. That will help with any pain she has from being lifted into the car, and will hopefully also let her sleep on the way.

She's walking a bit better, but is still very stiff and sore and is still prone to slipping if the floor is smooth. That's been a real problem at my parent's house with the hardwood floors.

This afternoon I let Ruger out and Nikky jumped up, wanting to go out.

The difference was that she didn't want to go out to do her business, she just wanted to look around. I think that's a pretty good sign.

We're all going to live downstairs for the next couple of weeks, though. I don't want her doing steps until I'm good and sure that she's able to make it up and down them without falling.

Yeah, when it comes to my dogs, I'm a real softy. They eat better than I do, and get better medical care than I do.

Glad to hear it went ok Mike.

My boy is still at the vet, had a minor op this morning to remove a lump they are now pretty sure wasn't anything sinister.

I don't know if I'm venerable enough to scold convincingly. Mike's much more venerabally. He's a little grouchier, too.

Heck, I put my dog before most people, women included. My wife is even worse than I am regarding my dog. Actually my wife is one of the only people I was romantically involved with that my dog didn't get jealous over. I had a few ex girlfriends (the real toxic ones) that ended up with the dog defecating on something they owned, mostly shoes and once a jacket. I wish I would have followed my dog's lead at that time.
