Title: Oleg needs some help
Post by: grampster on April 22, 2019, 07:17:45 PM
Oleg's kitty, Gremlin, got out of the house and got mauled pretty badly.  Gremlin has been in the care of a vet for a few days and the bills are mounting.  Oleg has had to sell some of his collection and needs some help.  If you can, here's where you go to do so:

Dangit.  The link above is not working.  Can anyone help find the correct link?

Go to Tam's blog.  booksbikesboomsticks.blogspot.com   (View from the porch)  She has the link you can click on to get to go fund me page for Oleg.

I saw that.  I have been active on his web sites for years.  A donation is the least I can do.

Donated.  Don't much like cats, but I do like Oleg.  It's a pittance for all he's done for issues I care about.

Didn't realize this was for his cat; I figured he needed some more models for his photography or something.

He hit his goal.

Looks like it's been updated with a new, higher, goal as he's gotten worse.  :'(

My condolences to Oleg.  Losing a pet is horrible.
As a kid I watched a beloved fox terrier die, getting crushed by a car wheel and the tire dragging the dog around inside the wheel well.
I had to euthanize a cat in 1993 that had a huge abdominal tumor and couldn't eat.
Another in 2011 that was sick with something novel could identify and had wasted away half her body weight.

But never a kitten.

 :'( :'( :'(   I am so sorry .....

I am sorry.

It was awful when our dog was killed a couple of years ago.

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

BTDT, including the part with them dying in your arms.

And it sucks. Every. Single. Time.

But Gremlin was loved and he knew it because he had you.

My condolences.  :'(

In related news
I also just found on a old phone the first pictures I ever took of Maya back in Dec 2009.

Sorry for the loss of your buddy, Oleg. It's never easy, but you did everything you could for him and you were there at the very end.

(Gremlin wasn't a kitten.   Oleg said he was 10.)

Oooops.  The OP   said "kitty"  and my mind converted it to "kitten" somehow.  Oh well, it's still a painful loss.

Again, condolences.
