Why the Google is broked?

When I search for anything on Google or Yahoo, I get nothing but spam websites.  On the Google (or Yahoo) page, I'll see a couple of lines of text that look right, then the URL, which is always something like asknsearch.com, or www.monstermarketplace.com.  Oddly enough, Image search works just fine.

Uhm...

I'm betting your have a trojan or some sort of redirection package on your computer that's taking over your searching.

No matter what you're entering, you're getting those websites?

Google works OK for me. Sounds like it's something on your machine...

seems to be a lot of trojans and malware going around lately.  I mean ALOT.  I got hit with it, friends at work have been hit.

Just seems like more then usual to me.

You have a browser hijacker.

Download and run Trend Micro's HijackThis to see what's doing all the redirecting. 

If it's not too bad, HijackThis will let you simply remove the offending code.

I'm on a super slow connection right now or would be a pal and help you out with some links. Try what G98 mentioned. Also if you have another browser or if this trojan doesn't redirect if you manually type in an address. try going to dogpile or somewhere and then type in something like "monstermarketplace browser hijack". That should give you many links to potential fixes.

You'll also want to run Spybot or AdAware programs periodically, and enable their inoculation feature.

Thanks for the replies, I'm at Trend Micro's site, presently. 

I haven't been able to update my AVG for a long time, now, even after I ccleaner'ed the install and downloaded it all over again.  So, what are the best anti-virus options out there, pay or free?
