Obama receives Transparency Award

Open .Gov Community gives Obama a "transparency" award in a closed, undisclosed meeting at the White House.
Quote
The secret presentation happened almost two weeks after the White House inexplicably postponed the ceremony, which was expected to be open to the press pool.

The Federation of American Scientist Director of Project on Government Secrecy was not inclined to say "thank you, Mr. President."  He states that the award is more "aspirational," recognizing that Obama has the potential to do more on the transparency of .gov.

Kind of like the Peace Prize was aspirational as well.....look out Libya.

I think the award is well deserved. I've not seen many as transparent as he.
Edited to add: I bet you see what I did there too! =D

Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.
I meet lots of folks like this, claim to be anarchist but really they're just liberals with pierced genitals. - gunsmith

I have the potential to play the lottery a lot more.  Can somebody just send me the jackpot in advance to encourage me?

Sorry, I thought this was part of the 1 April shenanigans.

It's actually a real true story/event.

I'm heading back to Bizzarro World where *expletive deleted*it makes sense.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

There... Are... Four... Lights!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Samuel Adams
