Not that weird. Scots tended to be independent, fierce warrior folks who (in the romantic versions) got steamrolled and absorbed in to the "civilized" English. Wonder why American gunnies resonate with that story.Add in that the folks on that island, and later in the colonies, inter bred enough that almost every white american has at least one kilt wearing ancestor and poof! Instant heritage.Besides kilts are comfy. (I gave in and ordered one. :D)
