Looks hideous. I can't believe people seriously want to save the thing.

It’s sooo important that it must be saved with “public” money.
Yet, the Church is looking to give it away and there are no takers.
Let demolition experts use it for training then give away the rubble to road construction contractors.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

It has potential.
A nice fixer-upper for a villainous mastermind looking for his or her first lair.
It would look a lot better had they not used that pebble-like facade. They might have been going for warmth and missed and instead the facade brought incongruity to the building and disrupted the look and so the elements don't fit together.
