USDA admits low fat diets are a bad idea

It's amazing to me how many things people in America take as gospel about food (low fat diets, salt is bad for you etc) were originally based on extremely poor evidence and have just bulled on through institutional inertia and people not wanting to admit they were wrong. The evidence strongly suggests that the "obesity epidemic" we have now is largely precipitated by people following the fed.gov's advice about how to eat.

Early hominids/humans did not eat a low-fat diet because it was inherently good for them.  (And just who was around telling tem that, anyhow?)

Apparently http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/low-fat/ it's more the type of fat that you consume that relates to differing health outcomes.

The new boogeyman is transfats.  http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/truth-about-low-fat-foods

Low fat/high carb is out.  High carb/low fat will kill you if it does not save you.  Low fat/low carb/high protien will kill you but with more pain to be endured.  If we had four stomachs and nobody minded all that methane we too could extract sustenance from vegetables (the stuff that food eats).

Based on decades of scientific evidence (I like it, it has not killed me yet) I propose that we all go on a diet based on The Brown Food Group: Chocolate, cooked (not burned past recognition) meat, browned potatos, caramelized onions, sauteed mushrooms, and cola drinks.  Roughage in moderation (no more than a quarter-lettuce wedge with bleu cheese dressing, cooked cabbage with corned beef because Tradition) to help things along.  Fermented/distilled spirits as necessary to break up anything that should not have clumped together.

stay safe.
If cowardly and dishonorable men sometimes shoot unarmed men with army pistols or guns, the evil must be prevented by the penitentiary and gallows, and not by a general deprivation of a constitutional privilege.

Hey you kids!! Get off my lawn!!!

They keep making this eternal vigilance thing harder and harder.  Protecting the 2nd amendment is like playing PACMAN - there's no pause button so you can go to the bathroom.

Does bacon fall in the "grease" category?  As long as it is included somewhere.  And biscuits.  Gotta have biscuits and bacon and butter.
