My brother's steakhouse on Facebook
« on: April 16, 2011, 04:17:52 PM »
Had a chance to mess around with the Ad pages on Facebook.  The way the page makes you manage things isn't exactly intuitive in some respects, but not very bad either.

If you have a business I'd definitely set up a FB page.  Pretty cool (and FREE!) way to get the word out.

If y'all are ever down that way you should stop by.  He cooks a mean steak.

  • I'm sorry, Dave. I'm afraid I can't do that.

Politicians and bureaucrats are considered productive if they swarm the populace like a plague of locust, devouring all substance in their path and leaving a swath of destruction like a firestorm. The technical term is "bipartisanship".

Facebook business pages are a good thing to have.
Funny thing is the one for the gun club I created has more friends than the one for my online store has. The store has had about 4000 customers, the gun club has about 400 members. Go figure.

Is anyone here responsible for this APS facebook page?

I needed a mod to change my signature because the concept of "family friendly" eludes me.
Just noticed that a mod changed my signature. How long ago was that?

never_retreat, I considered trying to do something on Facebook for my online store, but in looking at other online retailers (Able Ammo, for example), it seems like gun-related businesses don't do very well. Or is it just that they don't try?

Maybe they just don't try.
I still think the age bracket of the end user will decide whether a facebook page will work.
If the average age of the gun store shopper is 60 than the FB page might not do well.

Let him sand his ceiling smooth, and then see if the normalcy remains.  >:D

Liked and friended. If I find myself in that stretch of Tejas, will endeavor to drop in.

If I'm ever up that way (even though I can't imagine why), I'll stop in. Always looking for a great steak.....or even a good steak....  =D

There's the rub. I've looked at Twitter and Facebook and other media sites, and they don't seem geared to the demographics that most gun owners represent.

True. But your customer base probably trends significantly younger than the average gun owner.
