The mentality goes pretty far.
After Obama made his "spread the wealth" remark, a local conservative talk show host did a segment on the subject.
A liberal called in to defend Obama's position. So the host started asking the caller what other things he thought the government should give people.
"What about a house?", the host asked. The caller said that people need houses.
College educations? The caller wasn't quite sure, but then said that maybe some people should get free college.
What about free cars? The caller said he already had a car, so he didn't need one. But some other people might.
The host ran through an unbelievably long list, and it was equally unbelievable how many items on the list the caller thought the government should provide.
I guarantee that this caller is not alone in this extreme line of thinking.
