Remember the new logo? The changing of Tropicana from the wonderfully distinctive branding to something that looks like the store generic, complete with a stock photo of a glass of juice and tiny reverse-bookshelf font, no logo?

Well, here's their next branding self-flagellation.

Seriously. What the hell?

I don't buy it that often (heck, I'm not even sure any stores near me has it, might be something similar I'm buying), so I've got to ask - what did it look like before? ???

They kept the lightning bolt and orange cap, at least.

Probably just saving money by silkscreening the bottle rather than putting a paper label on it.

When I was in sports I always hated the labels anyways.  Condensation would make it peel off but there was never a trash can near by to throw the paper in.

Looks better than the old one.  I prefer Powerade, anyway.

When we grocery shop, my wife and I can pick out the Pepsi products easily now by their boring, generic new logos.  The new Pepsi boxes suck.  The new Tropicana boxes suck.  Now Gatorade sucks.  This is one epic fail by Pepsi.

At least with the tropicana stuff, the old label was much easier to spot.

The tropicana one just showed up in my store, I'm going to send a complaint in about it.

Bleh, could never drink the stuff anywho.  Gatorade always made me sick.

I prefer water.  That stuff could catch on. =D

I dunno, I kind of like it.

And the new plastic Tropicana pitchers work better.  Better balanced, easier to pour.  Feels lighter.

The only Gatorade I get though is the six packs of small bottles--I think they are eight ounces?  I get the "ice" flavors too.  I don't think those have had the orange/green label for a while now.  Those have been, iirc, more minimalist and monochrome for a while now.  I could be wrong though, haven't bought any of the stuff since I had to temporarily quit running something like two months ago.

I only drink Powerade Zero, so it doesn't really matter to me at all.

Yes.  Drinking Kool-Aid, or Gatorade, whatever they want to call it, to quench a serious thirst is Big Fail.

Hah, no. But grocery shopping is less visually interesting now.

Er what? I know if I had been drinking only water while working down in Florida I'd be dead by now. Water does lack some things that have to be replenished after hard work, namely salt.

Or are you referring to people with zero activity drinking it when thirsty, thereby being rather counter-productive?

Yep. People had quit drinking water completely, and worse, they used Brawndo to water their crops...

I know, I know.  I just can't get over the fact it seems like drinking Kool-Aid.  Any type of sweet drink leaves an after-taste for me, so I just don't drink any sort of soda or gatorade, if I am outside on a hot day.  Or if I do, I need some water to chase it with, but it still gets me.

Also, I became very attached to water, during a desert survival course, and then again during my military service (Georgia, TX, Louisiana, etc.)
