Trying to use humour to help move a fairly run of the mill item. Whattya ya'll think? Any suggestions?

Sounds good. Last time I half-jokingly accepted trades for "vinyl records, cameras, tools or weapons" I traded a few bucks worth of junk for an 870.

In a FS ad at Lightfighter, the seller posted "This gun has been shot less than 50 Cent" in an effort to move the rifle.

Looks like a good ad.

I don't have much use for a guitar, but if I get a job before anyone buys it I'll pay the $90 to see you set it on fire and smash it on the curb.  If I also get an elk or deer before then we can grill some dead wild animal afterwards.

Only thing is I'd take out the "will reduce price by $1 per day until sold" line.  That just gives any potential buyers the incentive to sit on their laurels and wait until it get down real low before making an offer.

I thought of that, but 1. I've seen it done successfully with fountain pens before and 2. with such a crowded market (lotta cheap basses on CL) I had to do something to get people's attention.

Not a bad looking axe!

How's the action and intonation?

Dude, I bought my first bass a couple months ago. :)

That being said, the "action" as I understand that term was very nice, low and easy to fret but no buzz. Not entirely sure what intonation is; the notes being true all the way up and down the fretboard I think? Not sure on that one.

Looking for a bass guitar, myself.  I'd like a 5-string, though.

You got it.  Easy way to check is to play the harmonic at the octave, then fret it at the octave.  Should be the same note.

If you're not familiar with playing harmonics, that's when you don't press the string all the way down, but just touch it over where the fret is.  Pluck or strike the string at the same time as you pull your finger away from touching the string.  You'll hear what could be described as a "ghostly" tone.  That's the harmonic.

Look dude, you got four fingers, you only need four strings.  Don't overreach!

Here's today's installment. http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/msg/1329453404.html

Kind of rushing on the funny titles, I need to start thinking them up the night before.

Yeah, like 10 hours later. Did you flag me RS? Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!

Not I, if it was me I'd be gloating, or at least making fun of you or something.
