The end of Stars and Stripes?
« on: September 04, 2020, 12:53:09 PM »
https://www.usatoday.com/story/opinion/2020/09/04/trump-and-stars-and-stripes-attacking-american-icon-column/5706859002/

According to this article, the administration is pulling the plug on Stars and Stripes.

As soon as I finish this post, I'll be firing up www.usa.gov to protest to the White House and to my congresscritters.

The government apparently owns it.  The gov shutting down its own newspaper isn't an attack on the free press.

I have no idea why the gov is doing this or if it is a good idea, but it has nothing to do with the first ammendment.

This seems like one where we might want to wait for more info/confirmation.

It's being touted as cost saving,  but it really isn't that expensive,  and considering the purpose served I think it should not be ended.
