USC Professor Recorded by Student
« on: April 17, 2013, 09:04:20 AM »
This video is pretty unbelievable. I had pretty much all very liberal and progressive professors when I was in college, but nowhere near what this guy is. They let their political orientation slip quite a bit, but they never centered their curriculum around it.  This is not a classroom, this is out and out indoctrination. At USC no less - one of the "best" of our universities.

I've never seen anything that bad. How the hell can he be employed at a public university and get away with that?

Too bad liberal professors don't ascribe to the same ideals.
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.
I meet lots of folks like this, claim to be anarchist but really they're just liberals with pierced genitals. - gunsmith

I take it you've not been paying attention to what has become of public education these last few decades.  From my own experience I've had professors that loved Hitler because he was a socialist (she mostly insulted students during class time, but in french with the Parisian exchange students) and administrations that permitted (and I assume still do so) assault and vandalism by student groups against folks as long as they are of the disfavored minority (those evil conservatives deserve to be on the other end).  I also thing its spread down from universities to grade schools as when I visited a number in my area while sub teaching extreme propaganda expressed by bumber stickers and posters were a common sight within the teachers' lounges that I saw.  I'm not yet 30 but already fear for the future.

That student needs to contact FIRE, to be ready for it when USC tries to retaliate for releasing the recording.  They will try to use some academic or honor code or copyright argument.  Meanwhile the prof probably has tenure and can claim "academic freedom"

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Free expression of ideas is one thing. Teaching lies -- at a public institution -- goes beyond "free expression of ideas."

Why is anyone surprised when someone like Bill Ayers, bombs, re-education/concentration camp talk and all, has tenure at UIC?
I promise not to duck.
