A school district in Vermont has nixed Halloween observances in school because (a) not all families celebrate Halloween, and (b) some costumes may be forms of "cultural appropriation." Yet in other places, schools have no problem trying to force students to participate in things such as reciting the Mexican pledge of allegiance. Methinks something is amiss.

Good. Halloween is an insipid holiday. The best thing that can happen is for it to quietly die.

Do we really need organized celebrations in the first place for any holiday?
I guess it is worse when you have entire groups running around looking for things to be offended by.
