Looks like a CBS miniseries rather than a movie.

With that noise in the background I couldn't figure if it was Picard talking or if he was channeling Spock. 7 of 9 on the other hand, I'd hit it and become one of her drones!!!

The one linked above had CBS all over it.  I hope Amazon has it, because I'm not paying for another subscription.

The new series will be available on Amazon Prime internationally. In the US and Canada, it is only available via CBS All Access, a separate pay channel.  CBS All Access is listed in my Amazon Prime lineup, but it is not free to Prime members. I think it costs $ 7.95 per month.

Great trailer, it has me interested, much more so than Discovery.

Same here. However, as I continually complain about, I'm not buying yet another subscription service, even if if I can activate it from within Amazon Prime. I'll wait for the DVDs if they are released.

Or else wait for this whole "everyone has their own streaming service" fad to die out.

Where do we stand on using a VPN to location spoof.  Is that piracy?

That's how I get the BBC shows my wife like on prime.

Star Trek Picard has failed to tell a complete story before it airs. After paying to watch it on CBS All Access you are required to buy 3 comic books and a novel that include major plot points and characterizations to fill in the blanks that couldn't be told within 10 episodes of television.

You'll have to pay to watch and then pay more to understand whats going on. I think they're cutting their own throats. I'm a fan of ST and have been since the original series but I refuse to allow myself to be sucked into a money pit.

I watched and enjoyed most of the previous ST programming . . . but I refused to pay for ST Discovery. From what I've subsequently heard, I really didn't miss much.

And this "Picard" trailer really doesn't intrigue me either - the ONLY thing that looked good was 7 of 9 popping up at the end.

Won't be paying to see this series, either.

(If you need comic books and a novel to follow the TV plot, that indicates either lousy writing or a pure cash grab - probably both.)

Sign me up along with HankB and WLJ.  Next thing will be having to pay for a video game to uncover more plot points.

I'm still going to hold a little hope, but it sounds like at this point, that's a stupid thing to do.

Dumb question:  If 7of9 is back in the area, does that mean Voyager made it back?  Do they have transwarp drives and all that stuff Voyager picked up?

I haven't watched Discovery.  Does it occur after the TNG/Voyager timeline or before?
