Scare Party for friends' daughter

Over the weekend I helped some friend with a Scare Party for their daughter.  Had a blast - probably more than the kids.  We even had a stereo set up in the attic for the requisit thumping footsteps, clanking chains, and ghostly moans.  Hard to see in the pic but the house was bathed in blacklights with "ghosts" on string, being blown by fans.

The only downside is that those masks are HOT.  Under the trenchcoat, the mask, and the hat, I was sweating buckets.  Sweat was pooling in the chin of the mask and running down my neck.  When I pulled everything off it looked like I'd taken a shower with my shirt on.  Ick.

I helped with a House of Horror type thing once.  I ended just having a big blanket of dark mosquito netting I put over myself.  Not much, but can be very intimidating in the dark when you jump out with your arms holding up the netting making you look like a 7 foot tall, 4' wide dark blob.    It probably wouldn't work for trick or treating.

As was explained to me by my son's second grade teacher, rap stars do it, so older kids copy rap stars, because it's cool.  Younger kids see older kids doing, so they mimic, because anything the older kids do must be cool.  They know nothing of gangs.

Real scary.  So scary that one of the little girls couldn't even stay awake.

I think she was so scared she fainted!
